  5. Click on the Netflix app, and head to the Advanced options.

Update the Graphics Drivers
First of all, you will need to make sure that your graphics drivers are updated to their latest version and are also well-matched with the current version of the Windows installed on your PC. Or else, you may need to download the newest version from the OEM website in case if it’s not available with your Windows device.
Update the Netflix App or Reinstall it
  1. Open the Windows Store.
  2. Search for the Netflix App.
  3. Here, you will need to check for the available updates. If you find any update available, click it.
  4. In case, if this too doesn’t work, you should try uninstalling the App, and then reinstall it.
Flush DNS and reset TCP/IP
We have noticed that sometimes when Netflix app says ‘not connecting to the server,’ it is likely to result in black screen. The app fails to resolve the server IP address because the DNS has been trying to connect with an IP address; The IP address is something not valid anymore.  So, you need to ensure that you Flush the DNS, and Reset the TCP/IP as well. However, you can also try to change the DNS server to Google Server, i.e., 8.8.8.8 and check if it works for you.
Install the latest version of Silverlight
Silverlight is used in Netflix for streaming videos in Windows 10.
So you can download Silverlight manually from the Microsoft website, and then install it.
Then you will just have to restart your PC and check if the problem is resolved.
Try Deleting the ‘mspr.hds.’ File
The videos streamed from Netflix are usually DRM protected. In order to stream the DRM content, it tends to use Microsoft Play-Ready, which is slightly a Digital Rights Management know as DRM program.
Another solution here is to remove the mspr.hds file. Doing so will force your Windows to start creating a new clean one which is more likely to delete any errors causing you trouble. To do so, follow the steps given below:
  1. Launch the File Explorer.
  2. Simply navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady\.
  3. Here you will be able to select all the mspr.hds files.
  4. Delete the mspr.hds files. Also, you need to empty the Recycle Bin.
  5. Then restart your computer, and open your Netflix app again.
